Jury's motivation:

With very few means belonging to both cinema and dreams -blurry and indefinite images, hypnotic sounds, words from a dialogue that started before us-, the director manages to take us into his profound but at the same time ironic and light investigation of a spiritual evil of our time, nostalgia, the feeling that is was better before.
Jorge Jácome's gaze, going back in time in search of a lost paradise, does not give us answers but makes us active spectators, stimulating us to imagine what we are seeing on the screen, looking for the origins of nostalgia, and also to ask ourselves, in the end, "Why does it hurt?"

Številna mesta in države imajo svojo specifično bolest. Obstajajo kraji kot Portugalska, potopljena v bolestnem hrepenenju po preteklosti, kjer so vse sedanje napetosti le vrh ledene gore, katerega začetki segajo vsaj v čas izvora naše vrste.

"Many cities or countries have a distinct malaise. They are places that could be Portugal, so sunk in a painful longing of the past, and where each tension of the present is only the tip of an iceberg that is explained in successive retreats that can go straight until origin of the species, at least. This feeling common to many latitudes is often presented as a diagnosis, a denial of a painful present as opposed to the desire to return to a glorious past." Pedro Penim
